Thank you EYR you launched my career
When I was fifteen I took part in Eastbourne Youth Radio with Willingdon Community School (I think I did some awful report on the sporting decade!) I am now twenty-three and have just been offered a job with CBeebies Radio at Salford Quays, which I am delighted about.
Having worked at The Observatory Science Centre for a number of years they gave me your details (they are supporting Heron Park Community Primary this year); so that I could say thank you to you for organising something that sparked my passion for radio
EYR was my first radio experience and it sparked a passion that saw me take part in Uni and hospital radio before landing me a job with the BBC. None of this may have happened without EYR so thank you very much! Hopefully EYR will inspire many more people in the future.
I wish you all the best for this year’s EYR and the future,
Best wishes,
Alex Harris.
